Winter Tour Rules

A Winter Tour Season Member (WTSM) must be a golfing member of KG&CC.
A WTSM must be at least 18 years old. Exceptions to this rule are on a case by case basis at the discretion of the Winter Tour Staff.
All WTSM’s must pay and sign-in by 8:30. A $5 late fee will be invoked to any late comer still wishing to play that day. WTSM’s arriving after 8:30 may or may not play depending on the circumstances.
A minimum of 8 players (two teams) must be present for a week to count.
Teams will consist of WTSM’s (Guests may be used if needed)
Guest Rule: Players who are not members of the KG&CC are not allowed to participate in the Winter Tour competition (Team, Individual, KP’s & Skins) but can play along as a 5th player. Greens fees must be paid in the pro shop prior to teeing off.
Members of KG&CC Rule: KG&CC golfing members that are not on the WT can participate as a WT guest under the following conditions:

- Must pay onetime fee of $5 (applicable to season entry fee at later date)
- Never plays in front of a WT Member
- Not eligible for any yearend awards
- Can attend WT Party as a guest (guest fee apples)
- 3 Round Maximum (can pay regular season fee beginning with 4th round)

At the discretion of the WT Staff a MG may play on a team ($20 fee) or as an individual ($10 fee) or simply as a 5th player not involved in the competition. MG’s will not pay for nor be eligible to receive “No-slips”, “Hole-in-ones” or “Rosey’s” (with the exception of the “Team Rosey” in which they will pay or receive the assessment under rule 20). Repeat guest’s handicaps will be monitored and adjusted accordingly. The Winter Tour reserves the right to adjust any WTSM’s handicap!
To qualify for end of season pay-outs you must have played in at least 10 Sunday Competitions. (This can be reduced by the Staff if there are a larger than normal amount of cancelled rounds due to weather)
On any given Sunday the field will be divided into 4 flights based on that week’s WT handicaps. Once this is done the teams will be randomly drawn placing one player from each of the four flights on each team. The low handicapper of each team is the “Team Captain” and will be responsible for the following: checking individual gross & net scores, checking team score, collecting net 80 fees when applicable, monitoring pace of play and turning in the scorecard. In addition to this, one other player will be tasked with keeping a second scorecard which is to be cross-referenced with the Captain’s scorecard following each hole. This card also gets turned in.
Team will be made up of 4 players. There will not be any fivesome’s for team play. Our check-in process tracks who checks in and at what time. This list will be used to determine what WTSM’s could be left out of the team competition. The earlier you check in the better to avoid being the odd man out. If you are out of the team competition your entry fee for that Sunday will be $10 instead of $20 and you will only be eligible for individual pay-outs. Your score will still count towards your eclectic & handicap.
Team ties will be decided by a KP shoot-off on Hole 1. (Individual ties will split money)
Low team score will only count for end of year money if there are no temporary greens. (eclectic scores do not count on temporary greens)
Year-end low net & gross scores only qualify when no temporary holes existed for that round
ALL PUTTS MUST DROP. No exceptions, mark any hole not completed with an “X” (see rule 16).
$5 fee for shooting a “net 80” or above (if your WT handicap is 5 or more)
$5 fee for shooting a “net 78” or above (if your WT handicap is 4 or less)
An “X” taken on ANY hole will automatically make that round count as a “net 80/78”
A WTSM that plays an 18 hole round with nothing worse than a net par (a “no slip”) will receive $5 from each WTSM that played that day. (All holes must be regulation, NO temps)
All KP’s must be within 25 feet of the hole.
Any WTSM who gets the closest KP on all three holes regardless of division in one round (the “Rosey”) receives $10 from each WTSM that played that day. If your name is Larry Erickson, you are not allowed to win the "Rosey".............ever
Any team getting all three KP’s in one round (“Team Rosey”) receives $5 from each WTSM that played that day. (If a player from another team ties one of the KP’s it negates the “Team Rosey”)
Any WTSM who has a hole-in-one will receive $10 from all WTSM playing that day. (Hole must be regulation, NO temps)
Any WTSM not present to collect his winnings may designate someone to collect for him or pick up the next Sunday.
Any money won over the course of the season for no slips, holes-in-one, Rosey’s and Team Rosey’s will not count towards the money list nor the fantasy team winnings.
If your WT score, after audit, totals up to a lower score than that which was turned in then the higher turned in score turned in will stand.
If your WT score, after audit, totals up to a higher score than that which was turned in then the score will be corrected and if necessary the winnings will be re-distributed. (All winning scores will be audited)
Leaf Rule: Any ball hit into area on the course where leaves have not been raked can be played under the “plugged” ball rule. This is for areas that are in play where the greens crew would be cleaning up the leaves eventually. Examples of where the “Leaf” rule does not apply are: left of the tree line on #3 & #4.
Players may practice putting on any green prior to the start of that days round. NO CHIPPING (or PITCHING Mike Colburn)
Winter Rules are in effect for the duration of the season (6” no closer to the hole except when ball is in a hazard). You may NOT move/touch your ball when it rests within 3 feet of a tree or out of bounds boundary.
If your ball lies in a sand trap you may take free relief (closest point no closer to the hole) if there is standing water in a sand trap OR if the sand trap has clearly NOT been maintained/raked prior to the round.
All other USGA rules of golf apply (i.e. no more than 14 clubs).
All questions concerning the rules of golf may be addressed in the pro shop.
Winter Tour Handicaps – Each player’s initial CH will be calculated using an October GHIN index (date TBD). Once the season begins handicaps will be maintained & adjusted by double posting each player’s score and calculating using the exact same formula that GHIN utilizes.
All Winter Tour Rules are subject to change. Why, because I said so.
